New Porsche 911 Cabriolet
Just a few months distance from the official launch of the 911 Carrera Coupe at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show this year, Porsche released today the open-top version of the almost historical sports cars series.
To keep a doze of history in the new car’s design, the German car maker opted for a soft top folding roof in detriment of the hard top present on some of direct 911′s competitors.
But don’t think that the system does not brings anything new because you would be wrong. The new structure is made of composite materials integrated on a brand-new magnesium frame, all this in the manner of weight loss.
The same new platform with longer wheelbase and the same engine range will be used on both Coupe and Cabriolet versions of the 911.
The car is expected to enter the German market on the next spring, having the starting prices from €100,532 (US$136,040) for the Carrera and €114,931 (US$155,515) for the Carrera S, all prices including taxes.
As for the US market, the entry date is almost the same as the one in the mother country, and the prices are expected to be somewhere around $97,300 for the 911 Carrera Cabriolet and $108,000 for the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet.
In the UK, the 911 Carrera Cabriolet is priced from £79,947, and the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet from £89,740
